BLACKPOLICY.ORG REDESIGNED & RELAUNCHED Premier Source of African American Public Policy Information Presents Fresh New Look & Greater Content (Denver/Washington, D.C.) – The Center for African American Policy at the University of Denver (CAAP), a unique blend of academics, public policy, community and public service, today announced the re-design and re-launch of Blackpolicy.org, the premiere source of African American political and public policy information. Already celebrating its third year in existence, the redesigned Blackpolicy.org is content-rich with numerous multimedia channels presenting information on the latest polling data, cutting-edge audioblog interviews and commentary, and the most comprehensive database of African American federal and statewide political candidates. The new graphic environment for Blackpolicy.org keeps the visitor in mind with better navigation, eye-pleasing color schemes and user-friendly access to a massive passel of critical public policy information of the day. Blackpolicy.org is the Center’s flagship website and multi-media platform, providing its visitors with some of the most significant analysis and coverage of public policy and political information impacting the African American community. New features include the fresh and original “ASCENT Speaks,” a compelling line-up of streaming “audioblog” channels showcasing intriguing analysis and hard-hitting interviews with host Peter Groff, CAAP Executive Director and President Pro Tempore of the Colorado State Senate and Charles D. Ellison, CAAP Senior Advisor, Public Policy Fellow and Senior Producer for ASCENT Speaks. ASCENT Speaks is an improved configuration of ASCENT Live!, the widely recognized Internet-reaching program that once aired on KVDU University of Denver radio until a brief summer hiatus. ASCENT Speaks channels include: Perspectives (Q&A with Peter Groff); Brainstorm (weekly analysis from CAAP fellows); Legacy (highlighting socially, politically and culturally conscious themes in the world of art and music with Correspondent Kimiko Take and CAAP Cultural Fellow D.L. Chandler); Voices (exclusive opinions from guest commentators); and the Chamber (a weekly thought session between CAAP’s leading thinkers, inlcuding Groff, Ellison, Chandler and CAAP Senior Fellow Tamara Robinson). In addition, the redesign presents an opportunity for CAAP to launch its very own Groff/Ellison Political Report, a savvy and insightful bi-weekly assessment of the latest happenings in the world of politics. Blackpolicy.org continues its most groundbreaking project ever, the Black Races interactive candidate map. Recognized by media sources as the only data-driven collection of information on African American federal and statewide candidates. Essential analysis will expand on the ASCENT Blog, the Black Policy Wire and the Black Polls blog. “Our goal with the new design and reconstruction is to offer a more user-friendly environment that continues serving up critical information you can’t find anywhere else,” said the Honorable Peter C. Groff, Esq., CAAP Executive Director. “Ultimately, we seek to build a resource portal that is data-driven and overflowing with information that is critical to the people who read it and essential to the community it serves.” # # # |
